You did not attach any screenshot to your post. But I guess you're talking about this functionality: Using Tags. If so then the use of it is simple: to tag any business object with freely defined tags. For example, as someone tags the tweet in Twitter, tags posts in blogs etc. Just to assign another "user friendly" classification to the object. For example, event your question can be "tagged" on SCN.
