status profile change for existing Transactions

Hi ,

Recently we have changed the status profile for opportunity transactions . Now I need to write a one time program to update the existing opportunities

with new status profile.

I can change the status, here I am talking about the status profile. alrdeay I have used one fucntion module CRM_STATUS_PROFILE_CHANGE, but it is not changing into new status profile for existing transactions.

I have used CRM_STATUS_MAINTAIN_OW to update the status of the opportunity, but status profile (STSMA) is not changing.

is there any new approach .
