It is STRING data type.

Let me put it this way.

I want to create a z-table with the fields: Username, time stamp and NOTES (just like the NOTES filed we have in standard components).

And, I want to use the same table as value node on the view. The user will enter the NOTES and click SAVE button. 

Please help me how to achieve this.

Atleast,  give me some idea about how the NOTES fields get saved from the standard views. I tried to debug, but no luck.
