Integrating SAP CRM workflow with ECC

Hi,

We have a requirement where when certain fields in SAP CRM sales order are changed (Example: Quantity at item level), we need to raise a violation and thus user will trigger a workflow for approval.

Now the APPROVER is from the plant who works on the purchase order and never access SAP CRM system but only ECC system.

Can we trigger a workflow approval task from SAP CRM to SAP ECC system?

Is this a valid scenario?

How can we achieve this ?

It would be great if somebody can share any documents if implemented the same scenario already!
