Thanks for an alternative solution. This is little different from the expected design. But we will be able to achieve our purpose of not allowing user to change any other fields except for status. I will discuss about this with our design team.
I think we will have some issue with this. Suppose I change few fields and then set the status to 'X'. Now CRM_EVENT_PASS_INFO_EXE_OW returns all fields that I changed and an exception will be raised as per your solution. But My requirement is to not allow user to change any other fields except status after STATUS is set to 'X' .
