Want to know if you ever resolved the issue. We have exactly the same requirement. We created a customer component with tabs to display customer transaction data. We want this to open in new IE window (currently we have this as a Navigation Bar link but we are open to add a button or middle page) so that user can see the data as well as work on new transactions.
