Have you solved this issue finally? I can see another SCN user put a similar question Hide Navigation Bar in SAP CRM Web UI.
If you have found any solution, it would do help to a lot of person.
I tested and found the collapse will work for some work center, but not all. Didn't check in more detail yet.
